English composition courses use The Penguin Handbook, second edition. This comprehensive text covers all aspects of writing, including planning, drafting, revision, and editing.  Students will find chapters on identifying and employing rhetorical strategies, analyzing verbal and visual texts, as well as chapters on research, documentation, grammar, and mechanics.  The Penguin Handbook also includes chapters on documentation design, writing for the web, and how to prepare for written examinations.
