Situated directly across from the main campus on Wilbraham Road, Gateway Village is reserved for juniors, seniors and sophomores as space permits. Nearly 600 students reside in a total of 170 apartments. These apartments accommodate two, three, four or six residents, in an efficiency, one bedroom, two bedroom or three bedroom arrangement. Each apartment has a private outside entrance and is fully furnished by the College (kitchen, living room and bedrooms, when applicable). The three bedroom units have two bathrooms. Apartments include: upholstered furniture, twin and/or bunk beds (regular mattress - not extra long), bureaus, bookcases, desks and desk chairs, table lamp(s), kitchen table and chairs. Full kitchen includes range, oven and standard size refrigerator. A walk-in closet is also provided.
The complex consists of apartments situated on five streets: Breck Place, Breckwood Circle, Gateway Drive, Park Lane, and Wilbraham Road. Each apartment has a distinct number and are generally designated either as "L" for the left side of the foyer entrace, or "R" for the right side of the foyer entrance. Six-person units are designated by bedroom, "A", "B", "C". An example would be 42L Gateway Drive or 121R Breckwood Circle. There is a laundry facility with a study room on Gateway Drive. Your apartment key provides access to this facility.
While some of the apartments in the complex have carpeting in the bedroom and living room areas, the College is in the process of upgrading all of the floors within the apartment to tile. If you and your roommates prefer, residents are welcome to bring an area carpet for their apartment. Given the variation in the size of rooms and the furniture involved in apartment living, you may wish to wait until you return to campus before you purchase an area rug.
