Admissions Requirements
The School of Pharmacy plans to offer a four-year professional program leading to a doctor of pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree, and will accept approximately 70 professional students in its founding class in the fall of 2011, pending appropriate approvals. With our tradition of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service, Western New England College offers one of the most enjoyable educational experiences in the region.
To be considered for admission to the School of Pharmacy, an applicant must:

Be eligible for admission to Western New England College

Be able to complete all pre-pharmacy course requirements with a grade of “C” or better at an accredited college or university before matriculation into the pharmacy program

Complete an application via PharmCAS

Complete the PCAT (completion of all subtests is required)

Submit a minimum of two letters of recommendation (via PharmCAS)

One must be from a teacher/professor

One must be from a healthcare practitioner (preferably a pharmacist)

Up to two additional recommendations may be provided by individuals who can attest to an applicant’s abilities and potential to succeed in a School of Pharmacy

A TOEFL or IELTS is required for all applicants (a) who are non-native English speakers, or (b) who completed the pre-requisite classes in a country where English is not the primary language.
Information that will be considered when selecting applicants for an in-person interview with the School of Pharmacy includes overall GPA; GPA for required Pre-pharmacy courses; PCAT composite score and subtest scores (including writing scores); letters of recommendation; and other considerations relevant to the mission, vision, and values for the School of Pharmacy (including service, advocacy, and leadership).
