Current Empirical Research is concerned with empirical papers that make a contribution to the fields of management, human resource management, strategic management, organizational behavior, and the psychology of organizational life. It welcomes both quantitative and qualitative empirical articles and articles from a broad range of methodological perspectives. We are method neutral in that we have no preference towards any specific research stance as long as the methodology is rigorous.
We encourage innovative methodologies, including ethnographic, field, archival, survey, laboratory, and new applications of statistical methods. We also encourage multidisciplinary approaches that help to cast organizational phenomena in a new light and foster communication among disciplines. Articles that combine empirical methodologies are welcome.
More specifically, we are interested in research at different levels of analysis, including individual, interpersonal, group and team, as well as organizational levels. We especially value articles that explore new topics and approach old topics differently rather than ones that make incremental contributions to the literature. In short, we are interested in work that helps us to think differently about the ways we relate to our organizations, the meaning of our workplace and our workplace interactions.
