About OIT
The Office of Information Technology is a service organization, reporting to the Vice President, Finance and Administration. There are four groups within OIT: Administrative Systems, Educational and Media Technology Center, Technical Support and Services, and Web Services. There are 27 staff employed in these groups and as of January 5, 2004 the Office of Information Technology has become fully staffed.
For the Academe, the Office of Information Technology provides opportunity for faculty to employ technology throughout the learning process. New technologies are prototyped and placed into production in an ongoing basis. The Deans of the Schools meet annually with OIT and as needed during the year to insure their needs are being met. Faculties also have the same opportunity and new technologies, both hardware and software, are now being deployed almost year-round.
Across the administrative enterprise new or refined applications are an everyday occurrence. Many of these new features permit students, parents, and staff better access to information for decision-making purposes. At least three new applications are being considered at this time.
