OIT Services
|
The Office of Information Technology is committed to providing the Western New England College Community with a wide range of technology services and solutions. OIT maintains over 400 computers in four labs, the Writing Center, and D'Amour Library, for use by members of the College Community.
Additionally, we are developing a wireless network for use on campus. There are several areas where the wireless network is available, including the first floor classrooms in Sleith Hall, and both D'Amour Library the School of Law.
A Majority of classrooms on campus have been equipped with multimedia technology. This technology includes teaching stations, computers, visual presenters, microphones, VCR/DVD players, integrated autio systems and projectors. These classrooms are considered a key teaching tool by faculty and staff.
Other services we offer are Web-Mail, allowing any member of the College community to access his or her Western New England College email account via any computer connected to the web; Manhattan Virtual Classroom, a system enabling faculty to provide course materials over the web, and facilitating communication between faculty and students, for questions and assignments, as well as student to student communication, for cooperation and class discussion; and the Administrative Systems Access Point (ASAP), which allows students to obtain grade reports, register for classes, and obtain Financial Aid information.
Finally, and perhaps most critically to College Community members, OIT has a Help Desk, which provides solutions to computer issues, including most hardware and software problems. The Helpdesk number is (413) 796-2200 or x2200 from on campus.
