College Continues to "Make A Difference" in the Community
Posted November 4, 2009

On October 24 and 25, more than 150 students, faculty, and staff participated in the College's annual Make A Difference Weekend. With the support from the United Bank Foundation and sponsorship from the Volunteer Connection Center, Make A Difference Weekend participants sought to give back to the community through volunteer projects held on and off campus. October 24 kicked off the event with 107 individuals working with a variety of programs and organizations including Children's Study Home; Dakin Pioneer Valley Human Society; Gray House; Lion's Den Teen Outreach Center; Peer Education Network; Save Our Kids Outreach; Scantic Valley YMCA; Springfield Rescue Mission; St. Luke's Home; and the Treasures' Beading program.

The success of the day's efforts overflowed to October 25 as students, faculty, and staff participated in the Rays of Hope Walk for Breast Cancer. The event raised over $2,500 in contributions.
