Western New England College hosted the Western Massachusetts Sustainability Symposium on October 24 in Sleith Hall. The symposium gave professionals, students, and the public an opportunity to explore the latest in green technology and how to make environmentally-friendly choices as consumers and business professionals.

Said Dini, professor of Mechanical Engineering at the College, welcomes everyone to the event.
The event included presentations on breakthrough wind technologies, biofuels, energy engineering, the operation of the power grid, nuclear energy, expanding energy efficiency, and energy storage. Additionally, local companies displayed their products and services designed to save energy and money.
The symposium was sponsored by the Western Massachusetts Section of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) in partnership with the Western New England College School of Engineering and the College’s ASME Student Section.
