Update From Cambodia
Posted October 19, 2009
Western New England College student Brittany Decker is currently travelling in Cambodia with The Harold Grinspoon Charitable Foundation, documenting the foundation's work bringing education and medical care to villagers outside the capital of Phnom Penh. The junior communication major is blogging about her experiences shooting a documentary video and exploring the local culture. In a recent post, she describes visiting Cambodia's killing fields, where millions were killed at the hands of the Khmer Rouge regime, and the country's Museum of Genocide Crime.
"I can’t even begin to explain all of the emotions inside of me from what I saw today. It was just so unbelievable to learn the cruel things that happened to people only about 30 years ago. I was able to get video footage of the killing fields, museum, and an interview with our tour guide that I look forward to sharing with all of you."
