Five Join Business Faculty

Western New England College President Dr. Anthony S. Caprio recently announced the appointments of five new members of the faculty at the College's School of Business.
Bahdir K. Akcam has been named Assistant Professor of Business Information Systems. Akcam comes to Western New England from the University at Albany, where he earned his Ph.D. exploring the socio-technical processes in interorganizational collaboration at the World Trade Center response and recovery process. He hold a master’s degree in informational systems from Middle East Technical University and a master’s in physical examination and criminalistics from Ankara University in Turkey, as well as a B.S. in Security Science from Police Academy in Ankara.
Lori Holder-Webb of Northampton, MA, has been named Associate Professor of Accounting. Holder-Webb has held teaching positions at Simmons College, the University of Wisconsin, and Texas A&M University, and has written extensively on issues involving corporate accounting, auditing, and reporting. She holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from Texas A&M, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Melissa J. Knott has been named Assistant Professor of Management. Knott joins the College from The George Washington University, where she earned her Ph.D. and taught in the Department of Management. She also holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in business administration from Eastern Michigan University. Knott’s research interests include management education, teams, and individual, team, and organizational learning.
Milos Vulanovic joins the College as Instructor of Accounting/Finance. Vulanovic’s areas of interest including corporate finance, investments, derivative, and international finance. He has taught at Baruch College, the New York Institute of Technology, Yeshiva University, Lehman College, Pace University, and the Borough of Manhattan Community College. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the City University of New York’s The Graduate Center, and holds a M.A. in Economics from Queens College and a B.A. in Economics from Lehman College.
James Wainberg of Florence, MA, has been named Visiting Instructor of Accounting. Wainberg is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Massachusetts, where he’s served as a graduate research and teaching assistant. Wainberg has worked as an audit associate for both PricewaterhouseCooopers and KPMG. He holds a M.S. in Accounting from the University of Rhode Island and a B.A. in History from Concordia University.
Western New England College is a private, independent, coeducational institution founded in 1919.
