Become an AmeriCorps Student Leader in Service for the 2009-2010 year
Student Leaders in Service:

Participate in 300 or 450 hours of community service over the course of one year.

This can include working with community agencies that focus on education, children & families, the environment, public health and other human needs.

This can also include working on campus to foster community service-learning initiatives through the College's Volunteer Connection Center and the Office of Learning Beyond the Classroom, working with faculty.

Help strengthen communities, encourage civic responsibility, and expand opportunities to gain valuable job experience, training and other skills.

Will earn an AmeriCorps Education Award (of $1,000 or $1,250) upon successful completion of their 300 or 450 hours that can be used to pay tuition or to repay student loans.
Application Process:
- The selection process will take place from September 21st - September 25th. Applications will be available in September and are due on Friday, September 18th.
- Along with the application, students will be interviewed.
- Only FIVE students will be selected to serve in these positions.
- Those selected must attend a mandatory orientation and other related trainings and activities throughout the year.
