Registration Categories
There are several different categories that the LBC experiences can fall under and experiences must be significantly different from each other. Please read through each category. If you are still unsure what category your experience falls under or if your experiences are significantly different or not, stop by the office to talk to any one of the staff members.

LBC-01 |
Course Based |
The experiential activity is embedded into the course curriculum. Both the experience and the reflection paper are course requirements. |

LBC-02 |
Co-Curricular Activity |
Membership or leadership of a co-curricular organization. Examples: IEEE, Management Association, CAB, Alpha Lambda Delta, etc. |

LBC-03 |
Leadership Development |
(Para-professional roles/Peer assistants) Experiences in this category carry significant leadership and time commitments. Roles where the students have applied, been selected, and trained to fulfill the responsibilities of their positions. Examples: Resident Advisors, Peer Advisors, Orientation Leaders, Student Judicial Board, Peer Educators. |

LBC-04 |
Athletics |
Participation in organized and recognized athletic programs. Examples: Team, intramural, or wellness program involvement. |

LBC-05 |
Service Learning |
May or may not be associated with a course or academic credit. Service meets a designated community need. Examples: Literacy Volunteers, Tutoring, Mentoring, or volunteering with another service agency or organization. |

LBC-06 |
Experiential Learning |
May or may not be associated with a course or academic credit. Experience is not service oriented. Examples: Marketing class doing an advertising campaign for local business, Senior Projects for engineering students, employment, practicum, etc. |

LBC-07 |
Internship |
Credit bearing academic internships. |
|
LBC-08 |
Study Abroad |
Participation in a structured, college recognized study abroad program. |

LBC-09 |
Research |
Participation in an independent or semi-independent research project. |
