STDs/HIV
STD testing is offered in Health Services for all students and employees. There is no fee for most STD testing for undergraduates. Employees and graduate students will be required to provide insurance information for billing by Baystate Reference Lab. No appointment is necessary.
HIV testing is offered by various methods.
1. Free CONFIDENTIAL rapid HIV testing. Health Services in collaboration with Tapestry Health will offer this service once a semester. Watch for dates and times on our website and through campus emails.
2. Free ANONYMOUS rapid or "send out" testing. Tapestry Health Center at 365 Bay Street, Springfield (413) 747-5144. www.tapestryhealth.org
3. CONFIDENTIAL HIV laboratory testing. Blood is drawn in Health Services and sent to Baystate Reference Lab. Cost is $30 cash or check at time of service.
4. CONFIDENTIAL HIV laboratory testing. Blood is drawn in Health Services and sent to Baystate Reference Lab. This service is billed to your insurance.
5. If you are not sure if you need to be tested, come to Health Services and speak with a provider. No appointment necessary.
