RECYCLED PRODUCTS IN USE ON CAMPUS

Have you noticed them?

Did you know they were made of recycled materials?

In response to the growing number of bikes utilized at the College, the Facilities group purchased and installed the first bike rack behind Sleith Hall in 2008.  In the Summer of 2009, as the College need grew, the Library purchased an identical rack for installation behind Chruchill Hall.  Finally, in the early Fall of 2009, upon completion of the new Residence Hall, the Facilities group purchased and installed another rack to keep with the theme of other green construction initiatives implemented at Southwood.

These bike racks are made of 100% recycled plastic.  They are maintenance-free and are assembled with parts that will not scratch or mar bikes.  Approximately 1,880 gallon size milk jugs worth of recycled plastic where used in construction of the bike racks.  Click below to view a photo of the bike rack in use at Southwood Hall.

In order to provide an additional outdoor siting space at the Law School, a picnic table was purchased and installed over the Summer of 2009.  The picnic table is located on the Bradley Road side of the building near the staircase which takes individuals up to the Rivers parking lot.

This picnic table is also made of 100% recycled plastic.  It is maintenance free and offers a sturdy location to have a snack.  Approximately 2,570 gallon size milk jugs worth of recycled plastic where used in construction of the table.  Click below to view a photo of the picnic table in use at the Law School.
