SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Former Western New England College football player Dave Roach has been named the director of athletics at Housatonic Valley Regional High School in Falls Village, Connecticut.
Roach is a 2001 graduate of Western New England College where he earned his bachelor’s degree in History. He was a four-year offensive lineman for the Golden Bears.
A native of Middlebury, Connecticut, Roach attended Pomperaug High School in Southbury. He served as the school’s junior varsity football coach and taught social studies before taking his new position at Housatonic.
Roach, who also will teach at Housatonic, replaces David Bayersdorfer who retired from the position after 16 years.
“I enjoy coaching,” Roach told the Torrington Register-Citizen. “Being an athletic director, you’re also coaching the coaches. I like the student-athlete. I like that frame of mind.” |
