Senior Jackie Beers top runner for the Golden Bears

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - With two runners finishing in the top five, the Salve Regina women's cross-country team captured the team title at the WNEC Invitational Saturday morning (Oct. 18). Maggie Klein of Casleton State was the individual winner covering the 5,000-meter campus course in 19 minutes, 13.2 seconds.

Lindsey Segal-Bator of Pine Manor was second (19:59) followed by Nicole Procop of Endicott (20:13). The SRU duo of Marisa Fiore (20:26) and Caroline Norton (20:31) took fourth and fifth, respectively.

Host Western New England College came in sixth in the 20-team field. Senior captain Jackie Beers (Litchfield, CT) placed 22nd for the Golden Bears (21:17.50). There were 150 competitors in the event.
