Alumni Association Trip to Provence, France
May 25-June 2, 2010
In the book A Year in Provence, author Peter Mayle did what most of us can only dream of doing. But why not settle for nine days in the South of France? Next spring, Western New England College alumni and friends will have the opportunity to travel to magical Aix-en-Provence, where sun-drenched beaches and undulating hills tie the Mediterranean to the Alps.
The all-inclusive journey, from May 25 to June 2, 2010, features seven nights in Aix-en-Provence at the first-class Grand Hotel Roi Rene, an extensive meal program, and an exciting travel program. Pictured is a lavender field in front of Abbey Semanque.
Aix-en-Provence: its very name conjures images of idyllic days with dazzling light illuminating the verdant countryside’s sloping vineyards and lush olive groves. The wonderful scenery of the region enraptured Cezanne, Changall, and van Gogh. Writers have flocked here and extolled it as the Great Land of Inspiration for all that is French and Fabulous. And here’s your chance to experience it!
The cost is estimated at $2,595 per person, double occupancy if reserved before December 1, 2009. Air fare is estimated at $1,400, which includes transportation to the hotel. You may book your own flight if you prefer.
