International candidates have the opportunity to pursue a master's degree in our School of Business or School of Engineering. The following master's degrees are available to international students: Master of Business of Administration, Master of Science in Accounting, Master of Science in Engineering Management, and Master of Science in Engineering.
Location

Our picturesque campus is located in a small city of 152,000 in the western part of Massachusetts. It is just 241 kilometers (150 miles) north of New York City, 138 kilometers (86 miles) west of Boston, and 39 kilometers (24 miles) from Bradley International Airport in Hartford, Connecticut. We're also just an hour from the beautiful Berkshire Mountains and two hours from the beaches of Cape Cod. We have four distinct seasons with the following average temperatures:

Support Programs
We have a full-time International Student Advisor to assist you with immigration, academics, and personal issues. The College also provides limited English as a Second Language (ESL) support services to non-native English-speaking students. We do not have an extensive ESL Program; students must demonstrate proficiency in the English language as part of the application process.

Application Process — International Students
The following items must be received before the Admissions Office will be able to review your application:
- A completed Western New England College application and the $30.00 (U.S.)application fee. Reference the application for admission for a complete list of required items for admission for you intended program of study.
- Official transcripts from all educational institutions, which are comparable to U.S. post-secondary institutions. These should be submitted directly by the institutions or in envelopes sealed by them. If the documents are in a language other than English, they must be accompanied by a certified English translation. A U.S. bachelor's degree or its equivalent is required for admission.
- Evidence of English proficiency. This can be done through a number of assessments including completion of the official TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) with a total score of at least 213 computer-based (79 Internet-based, or 550 paper-based), an IELTS score of at least a 6.5, EIKEN score of at least 2A, or completion of level 112 from ELS. Official scores must be submitted to the College. (Western New England College's College Code for the TOEFL is #3962. International students who have attended a college or university in which the instruction was in English will not be required to take the TOEFL. Additional exemptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- An OFFICIAL ORIGINAL LETTER sent directly to the Admissions Office FROM A BANK stating that you or your financial sponsor (your family, government, agency, etc.) has sufficient funds to support your education while you are enrolled at Western New England College. The bank letter should bear the bank's seal on the bank's official stationery.
- All financial documents must be in U.S. currency ($). Financial documents received in currency other than U.S. dollars will delay the application process.
- A bank letter does not need to indicate the bank account balance. However, SPECIFIC amounts must be listed in U.S. currency. (For example, specific bank wording may say, "(Sponsor name) has enough funds in the account to support (Student's name) while attending Western New England College. This should be at least $26,968 for tuition, books, and personal expenses." This figure is an estimate for the full cost of the master's degree program, whether a candidate completes the program in one or two years. Personal expenses will vary based on a student's duration of study. Additionally, students enrolled in either the MBA or MSA program may incur additional charges for prerequisite courses requirements. Students will be notified at the time of admission if any prerequisite requirements will need to be satisfied.
- A bank letter must be current (received by the Admissions Office within 6 months of issue). Basic charges for the 2009-2010 academic year in U.S. dollars are:

When to Apply for Admission
Western New England College has a "rolling" admissions policy, not a set admission deadline, which gives students greater flexibility in applying. Admission decisions are typically released within three weeks of your application being complete. The College urges prospective international students to apply as early as possible in relation to the anticipated start date to ensure sufficient time process all of the necessary paperwork for purposes of a student visa.
Typical Academic Calendar
Graduate courses are primarily offered during the 11-week term. During the year, four terms are offered for graduate studies - fall (September), winter (January), spring (April), and summer (July). International students typically begin their studies at the start of either the summer or fall terms. For a detailed overview of the Academic Calendar, click here. In order to maintain eligibility for purposes of a student visa, international students must be enrolled in at least 6 credits (two courses) per term for three consecutive terms.

There is a $30 application fee for all applications. This fee can be waived if a Western New England College alumnus/a signs the application.
