Degree Study
Our graduate engineering programs are all about choices. Offering thesis, non-thesis, and project options, the master’s program at our School of Engineering will give you the in-depth preparation you need to stay ahead of the technology curve.

Master of Science in Engineering (MSE)*
The Master of Science in Engineering coursework addresses the enhancement or development of skills and knowledge for those in the engineering, computer science, information technology, mathematics, and systems engineering fields. The program places emphasis on engineering practice and is ideally suited for individuals who desire broader graduate experience but cannot be away from work full-time.  Concentrations include: Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

Study Method: On campus evening, online, and hybrid courses
Terms: Accelerated, 11 weeks
Coursework: 30 credits

* Students may need to take a course(s) offered during the traditional 15-week semester to satisfy degree requirements.

Master of Science in Engineering Management (MSEM)**
The Engineering Management Program includes courses in engineering administration, statistical methods for quality assurance, and the economic aspects of engineering decisions. The Program allows for selection of up to three electives from the College’s MBA Program and offers thesis or non-thesis options. Concentrations include: General Concentration, Production and Manufacturing Systems, Quality Engineering, and Business and Engineering Information Systems.

Study Method: On campus evening, online, and hybrid courses
Terms: Accelerated, 11 weeks

**The 11-week terms run concurrently with MBA offerings, providing students with the opportunity to take MBA courses
as electives.

Master of Science in Engineering Management/MBA Combined Degree Program
If you're looking to move into a leadership position within the field of engineering or into upper management, you will need to strengthen your management and technological skills. The Master of Science in Engineering Management/MBA (MSEM/MBA) is an accelerated combined degree program designed for those in the engineering profession who want to advance their knowledge and improve their management career opportunities in engineering and technology-oriented companies.  By pursuing the combined degree, successful graduates would earn two degrees in less time by taking advantage of credits for courses that can be applied to both programs.

Certificate Programs
If you’re looking to gain proficiency in a specific area, Graduate Certificate programs can help you advance your career with the completion of four to six courses. Should you later choose to enroll in a masters’ program, credits from our certificate programs may be transferable. Graduate level certificate programs include:

Green Belt Certification
A Green Belt possess the knowledge to support and champion Six Sigma implementation and participates in Six Sigma projects as a team leader or a team member. Individuals certified as a result of completing the coursework will have knowledge and skills equal or superior to many working Black Belts in business and industry today. Green Belt Certification is obtained by successfully completing the four course sequence necessary to earn a Quality Engineering and Quality Systems Certificate. The four courses in this certification program may be applied to the Master of Science in Engineering (MSE) or (MSEM).

New Lean Systems
Lean Systems is a set of principles whose goal is cost reduction by the elimination of waste. These principles focus on continuous improvement, flexibility, pull processing and improved quality in the inventory and production process. The lean systems certificate is designed to assist employees with the challenge of implementing and maintaining improvements. Students gain the ability to: identify and eliminate waste; participate in ongoing continual improvement efforts; and focus on customer needs beyond cost and price. The lean certificate program is 12 months long and courses taken can be applied toward the Master of Science in Engineering Management.

Non-Degree Study
Nondegree study allows students to explore course offerings and to acquire job-related knowledge without pursuing a degree. Students can enroll in any graduate course for which they meet the prerequisite as a nondegree student. The maximum number of credits that can be earned as a nondegree student is seven semester hours. In most cases, credits earned through non-degree study can be applied toward degree programs.
