Location

Our picturesque campus is located in a small city of 152,000 in the western part of Massachusetts. Take our virtual tour to learn about our programs, campus, and location. It is just 241 kilometers (150 miles) north of New York City, 138 kilometers (86 miles) west of Boston, and 39 kilometers (24 miles) from Bradley International Airport in Hartford, Connecticut. Size
Our student/faculty ratio is 15 to 1. Of our 2,400 full-time undergraduate students, 59% are male, and 41% are female. Classes average about 20 students each. The College also offers several master's degree programs and has a School of Law. The total enrollment is about 4,000.
Support Programs
We have a full-time International Student Advisor to assist you with immigration, academics, and personal issues. The members of the International Student Association also provide support and assistance to each other.
Start your college career off right with our nationally recognized First Year Program which features an upper-class student as your peer advisor who helps you learn your way around campus and adapt to college life in the U.S.A. Another important mentor is your academic advisor who also teaches your First Year Seminar course. Our Writing and Math Centers will also assist you in adjusting to the challenges of college.
The College also provides limited English as a Second Language (ESL) support services to non-native English-speaking students. We do not have an extensive ESL Program; students must demonstrate proficiency in the English language as part of the application process.

In additional to international students from around the world, you’ll meet students on campus from 28 states who make up our friendly undergraduate student body. Greater Springfield is a diverse community in which residents celebrate their heritage through a variety of annual festivals and ethnic music, restaurants, and markets. Athletics
Get into the action playing any of our 19 Division III varsity sports or stay in shape at our world-class health center that includes an indoor pool, track, and 2,000-seat field house. Our new sports complex includes a multi-sport stadium with synthetic turf field and a baseball stadium.

Value
Western New England College offers an excellent private college education at an affordable tuition. International Student Scholarships ranging from $10,500 to $14,000 are awarded to students with outstanding academic records. These are only partial scholarships, and they are offered to a limited number of students. International students must be able to finance their tuition, housing, travel, and personal expenses. As part of the application process, students must provide a letter from their bank and an Affidavit of Support to certify that sufficient funds are available. How to Apply — International Students
In order to apply to the College, international students need to comply with the following steps. The priority application deadline for freshmen is March 1st for the fall semester.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the English language. This can be accomplished by submitting results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or submiting proof of completion of Level 112 at an ELS Language Center. SAT I or ACT scores can be substituted for any of these scores as well.
- Obtain an application for undergraduate admission from the College's Undergraduate Admissions Office, download an application here or apply online.
- Return the completed form with a nonrefundable $50 application fee (U.S. dollars). If you apply on-line, be sure your application fee($40), transcripts, test scores, and recommendation are sent by mail.
- Forward official secondary school transcript(s) accompanied by an English translation of the document(s) as well as an official transcript of the in-progress grades when available. If you are attending school in the United States, we will need your first quarter grades.
- Transfer students should submit official copies of their final secondary school transcript and their college/university study. These should be accompanied by an English translation. Any available information regarding the comparability of the secondary school or college courses to the U.S. system should also be provided. We recommend using WES for translations and credential evaluations. Although this is not required, using this resource or a similar one could help expedite the review process.
- Submit an Affidavit of Support form. Click here to download.
- Submit an official letter from your bank (on the bank's stationery) declaring that the financial sponsor has sufficient funding to support the student's education at Western New England College. Click here to see an example.
- Provide a recommendation from a guidance counselor or teacher. Engineering applicants should submit a letter from a math or science teacher.
Deadline for Deposits
Upon acceptance to the College, we will issue an I-20 form. The I-20 will be mailed to the student's permanent address as listed on the admissions application. The Admissions Office should be notified if you move or change your address during the enrollment process. For the full I-20 policy click here.
To confirm enrollment for the fall semester, the Admissions Office must receive the following deposits by May 1st or, if accepted after April 15th, within fourteen days of the acceptance letter's date.
Commuter students:
A $100 nonrefundable tuition deposit
Resident students:
A $400 nonrefundable deposit ($100 tuition deposit and $300 room deposit)
