Reebok takes a multi-disciplinary approach to develop footwear, equipment and apparel for athletes. Product creation begins with research to determine the functional needs of athletes. This is accomplished using biomechanical tools such as force plates, high-speed motion tracking and pressure sensors as well as research to determine the athletes' psychological needs and expectations.
Once a clear understanding of the functional requirements has been established, Reebok designers and engineers apply their knowledge of materials and manufacturing techniques to create prototypes. These prototypes are evaluated using mechanical, biomechanical and sensory evaluation tests. Our evolving understanding of the mechanical and psychological needs of the human athlete, improvements in product testing methods and advances in materials and manufacturing techniques, has led to rapid advances in sports products.
